Departure Day - May 19th 2012

So - This is how the Day Ended -

A Blotched Supper

And a 'junk pile.'

But, this is how the day started:

Cuddles followed by playing in the 'tent' with the Mater Missile

Uncle David Getting to HOLD Kaana Bella!

Kaana Bella even held on tight!

We took some family photos for memories.

And, then, we headed out for Dulles Airport

Duncan helped Daddy push his heavy gear into the airport on a SmartCart.

And, once inside we patiently waited for Daddy to get up with his team via phone before getting a stamp for his gear at customs.

Daddy gave Duncan a special challenge coin that matched his
(which Duncan held almost the entire rest of the afternoon.)

After Daddy got his stamp at customs it was time to ride the escalator upstairs to help Daddy check his bags and get his tickets.

Daddy was very successful at getting his tickets.

While Daddy was getting his tickets Duncan requested a picture with this sign.

We Got a Final Family Photo

And a picture of Mommy and Duncan too!

We got one final close-up shot of Daddy

Then we stood by the railings and waved good-bye to Daddy until we couldn't see him anymore.
(Then we went around to the side of the railing and watched Daddy walk completely out of sight!)

Mommy and Duncan kept their normal routine and got their airport snacks.

Then we went to HomeGoods, Michael's and Whole Foods.
We even found new products to check ingredients on!

Poppa came home from his conference in Baltimore as quickly as he could to see Duncan.

Duncan was more than happy to help Poppa get his suitcase into the house!

After the botched supper (too salty) we had rice cakes with PB and Four Fruit Jam as well as some cheese and milk.

Then, it was off to dream-land while Daddy was flying high through the air and over the ocean.

Sweet Dreams May 19th.

Sweet Dreams.
